Office director meets with director of DG FISMA

On February 25, Zheng Yang, director of the Shanghai Municipal Financial Service Office, met with a delegation led by Mario Nava, director of DG Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission.

Zheng briefed the guests on the latest development of Shanghai international financial center construction and financial reform and opening up in the city’s free trade zone.

“According to the deployment of the central government, Shanghai is gearing up to promote the interactive development of financial liberalization in free trade zone and the construction of Shanghai international financial center,” Zheng said.

Zheng said Shanghai is striving to promote opening up and innovation in financial industry, expand the depth and breadth of financial market, create a favorable financial environment and improve financial services, aiming to build an international financial center that is adapt to China’s economic strength and the international status of yuan by 2020.

The two sides also exchanged opinions on topics including financial investor education and consumer protection.
